Scuba Diving and New Year's Resolutions
Thursday, November 13, 2008
As scuba diver, do you have any particular New Year resolutions? As you are aware, many people fail with New Year resolutions, usually within the few few months of the new year. One of mine is to get some diving in for
Sure Glad That I'm Not In The Water This Week
Monday, November 10, 2008
The temperatures at night here in Orlando have been a bit chilly requiring a jacket for sure. Mornings have been cold too. So I made the right decision for myself not to dive this week down here. Even though I don't get down south often, I won't enjoy scuba diving if the water is too cold for me. Last reports were in the 69 to 71 degree range which is way too cold for me.
May Miss Scuba Diving In Florida This Month
Monday, November 03, 2008
The reports of the local gulf water temperatures do not look very promising to me and since I'm going to be in the Tampa area next week, I might miss scuba diving altogether. This is too bad since I haven't been in tropical waters for some time.
Tracking Water Temperature In Clearwater Tampa Area
Wednesday, October 29, 2008
I'm tracking the water temperature in the Clearwater Tampa area because I'll be down there in about 2 weeks for an event. If I get spare time and if the water temp is not too cold, I might go for some diving. If the temperature is too cold, then I'll forget about the diving and wait for another trip down south after the winter.

Will Florida Temperature Hold Up In November?
Friday, October 17, 2008
I'm going down to the Tampa area in November. I hope that the weather and water temperature holds up so that it won't be too cold to scuba dive. I would love to try and get in at least one dive while I'm there.
Scuba Diving In Dominican Republic
Tuesday, October 14, 2008
My brother went to the Dominican Republic and tried the scuba diving there. He said that the diving is not too good there but since he was down there, it was better than nothing. I will probably not go to the Dominican Republic as a dive destination as other reports have not been too great about it as well.

Pilot Guides Show on Scuba Diving In Australia
Friday, September 26, 2008
Watched an episode of the TV travel show Pilot Guides last night. They featured scuba diving in Australia with a few choice dive sites in the Great Barrier Reef. A great show. I've never dived in Australia yet but it is one of the must do's in the future. To see reports of other places around the world where I have dived, see Scuba Dive Articles.
No Ontario Diving For Me This Year
Wednesday, September 10, 2008
Looks like I once again missed the opportunity to dive in Brockville Ontario this summer as the water temperature has dipped too low for my taste. Oh well ...
Tuesday Nights for Scuba Diving At Etobicoke Olympium
Thursday, August 28, 2008
I found out yesterday that the scuba diving sessions at the Etobicoke Olympium are Tuesday nights from 9 pm to 11 pm. Cost is about $25 which includes a pool charge and tank rental. I will likely try it out in the near future.
Will Scuba Dive At Etobicoke Olympium
Tuesday, August 26, 2008
One of the nice things about living here in Mississauga is that we have access to the Etobicoke Olympium which has a 17 feet deep pool. This is the pool that I took my original scuba diving certification as well as the pool sessions for my master diver. We can rent scuba tanks to practice our diving skills in this pool and since it is 17 feet deep, it will give us an opportunity to practice
Scuba Diving in Brockville
Friday, August 22, 2008
As I check the water temperature for Brockville, Ontario, I noticed that it's holding steady at just under 73 degrees F. I wish it was warmer but 73 isn't bad with a 7 mm wetsuit. So I will make a decision about whether to go diving there as soon as I get back to Canada from Berlin where I am right now.
I will process all orders that came in for scuba diving t-shirts while I was away.
Will Not Be Scuba Diving In Ireland
Wednesday, August 13, 2008
Even though I will be going to Ireland this week for several days and near a scuba diving area, I won't be diving for this trip. Water is too cold for my personal taste so I'm going to take extra time to see Dublin instead. But I hope to dive down in Brockville, Ontario later when I return from my trip in late August or early September.
Brockville Water Temperature in Low 70s
Monday, August 11, 2008
The water temperature in the Brockville, Ontario area is presently in the low 70s. This will be near the high peak for the year. This area is known for great scuba diving for shipwrecks in the St Lawrence river.
Maybe Dive In Brockville This Summer?
Thursday, August 07, 2008
Even for the last five years I've lived in Montreal, I failed to do any scuba diving in Brockville, Ontario which is about one and a half hours west. Now that I'm back in Toronto, I still might head out to Brockville at the end of this summer for a dive if the temperature of the water is decent. Brockville waters are suppose to be among the warmest in Canada during our summers here. I'm aiming
Scuba Diving Website Now On Apple Mac
Thursday, July 31, 2008
So far, our scuba diving website has been managed on our new Apple Mac for over a month now and we hope things look okay. We are able to make updates rapidly now but now totally sure how the website looks on various monitors with Internet Explorer on Windows. The only time I'm able to see our website through Internet Explorer on Windows is the occasional visit at the local library. Apple Mac

Relatively Warm Waters In Canada Will Be Short Window
Thursday, July 24, 2008
A friend of mine is considering on doing his scuba dive certification up here in Canada. He lives in Montreal. I told him that if he wants to do his open water dives up here, the warmest waters will be in the Brockville, Ontario area but the window is very narrow in terms of water temperature. The temperatures peak around mid August to mid September at about 72 to 75 degrees F and the rest of
Emerald Sea Scuba Diving
Monday, July 21, 2008
Saw a TV documentary on scuba diving in the Pacific Northwest coast region in an area known as the Emerald sea since the ocean there is very high in plankton. Despite the cold waters, there is an abundance of marine life including whales, octopus, crabs, anenomes, seals and much more to see. I can now understand why this area has been voted by many scuba divers to be among the top dive
Another Visited Stingray City
Tuesday, July 15, 2008
While I was a guest speaker at a local Toastmasters club last night, one of the members was asked during the meeting to describe a memorable time in the water. This member talked about his visit to Cayman Islands Stingray City which brought back good memories. But it seems that he did the cruiseship visit which just involved swimming with the stingrays rather than the scuba dive version that I
